Welcome.

Thank you so much for booking your photography shoot with me. I absolutely LOVE to photograph families and children. From a young age I have loved being behind the camera and capturing milestone moments for family and friends. Before you come I wanted to share with you some hints and tips to make our time together run smoothly and ensure you get the absolute best out of your session.

Having a photography session is a wonderful experience, it can also be overwhelming. I understand just how important the little things are. I’ve built my business around ensuring I make every step of this experience a worry free and exciting time for you all so you can enjoy creating these memories as much as I do. I’ve put together this information guide to ensure you have all you need to know about the session; what to do beforehand to ensure family/children are as comfortable as possible during the session, what to do if you can’t make the date, what to bring, what I need to know and what’s next. I’ve thought about everything so you don’t have too. If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact me.

Please feel free to jump to the selection that applies to your session.

My Baby’s First Photoshoot

baby photographer bedfordshire

Our baby’s first photoshoot sessions have been designed for babies 5 weeks - 12 months old. Each session is tailored to you and will run differently depending on babies age.

I want to make sure I capture your baby in their element, their cheeky character or a signature pose you know the one they do all the time at home, giving you beautiful images which are personal to you.

Your session will include 3 set ups, which will all be based around your colour palette choices, you will find a copy of this further down the page. Please make sure I have your colour choices prior to our session.

It’s important to me to make the session as relaxed and enjoyable for you as possible, so I have everything covered from props to outfits. All you need to do is relax, bring yourself and baby. If you wish to bring siblings along for some photos with them too, please bring a helping hand who can help keep siblings entertained.

Family Studio Session

I love photographing families. I get asked so many questions about how to prepare for our family sessions, I’ve got everything covered there is just one thing you need to do to prepare for your session.

Outfits! Your outfit is everything and will totally make your shoot. That doesn't mean you need to go out and buy new ones. I suggest light colours, nothing with heavy and bold patterns. Avoid cartoons too, especially for children as they can be super distracting in images. Make sure your outfits compliment each other. A lot of families try to colour coordinate their outfits, which I love, it really finishes the look off.

Please ensure you are all in plain socks too. You also wont be wearing shoes in the images as I don't allow shoes on the backdrops so bare that in mind too or go for bare feed. If you have young children attending I recommend bringing a few snack and drinks to help keep them entertained and interested. I’ll talk you through how to pose on the day so just relax and enjoy planning your session.

Take a look at the video below to help you prepare.

Family Session Outdoors

Outdoor sessions are one of my favourites, especially as we are lucky enough to have all the beautiful seasons. It makes all my outdoor shoots so different from one another. Location shoots are ideal if you have a large group of people you would like involved in the session or if you aren’t overly confident in front of the camera.

There is a much more relaxed and natural feel to outdoor sessions and these can take place at a location of your choice, and if you’re unsure of where to go, I have my own recommend locations too.

Your outfits should be planned around the time of year for this style of shoot. Will you be rocking the wellies, coats and hat look? Or will it be pretty summer dresses? Use the seasons to help make your outfit choices. Don’t forget to think about your footwear too! Feet will be captured in your shots so make sure you wear footwear you’re happy to be in your images and not just ones you’ve quickly put on as walking out the door.

Don’t forget although we are outdoors, your outfit is still a big part of the look to your images. Opt for plain/ solid colours. Avoid heavy patterns, cartoons, slogans/logos. Try to colour coordinate where you can it really finishes the images off.

If you need more help with planning your outfits check out my video just above.
